Getting it right

I realized this morning that there were so many things I didn't do to get Gracelyn ready for school.
~I didn't have a hot breakfast for her.
~I didn't have a lunch packed with a note telling her how much I love her.
~I didn't find her other black "fancy" flip flop and sent her to school on the first day in shoes that kinda hurt her feet.
~I didn't read a special book to her last night that would set the tone for the year.

But one thing I did right was pray over her and asked the Lord to grant her wisdom and success this school year. I pray for my friends who teach. That they would have a year full of joy and happiness. That their students would be safe and successful under their care. I prayed for our friends who are starting school for the first time to be confident. I prayed for all the mothers who dropped their kids off that they might be able to shed a few tears of joy that they have done what the Lord has asked of them. To be parents who teach and train their children to be independent and warriors for Christ even in a building that might not be filled with children who believe in our God. I prayed for protection on our buildings and for God to rest his mighty hand on each rooftop and shelter them from harm. I prayed that God would be glorified through our children.

I also prayed for life to slow down. I am tired of saying life is passing quickly. I don't know how to make it slow down but I do know that I want to enjoy every moment of it.

Keri, You might not have done some of the worldly things and now you regret it, but you prayed over her and your friends. That says so much.
