Nana-B and Papa

Cameron's parents came out last night and we had a great time watching the kids play on Papa while Mason showed off his smiles. Here are some pictures from the evening.

My head is a little bigger today

This is the link that I would like everyone to check out!!! YEP it is my mom in the bottom row on the right. We have a local magazine here in Amarillo that is published monthly. It is awesome to think that out of all the nurses in Amarillo, TX my mom was chosen along with 4 others to be interviewed and photographed for Amarillo Uptown. I know without a doubt that God knew Mom needed this right now. A boost in knowing that she is doing a great job at work. That she is valued and appreciated for her efforts to her job. She is a workaholic and to be recognized for her commitment is awesome.

About 2 months ago my great friend Teresa was featured for her role as a minister's wife. I am so proud of these two women in my life. I am so blessed to call them mine and that I get to have a very wonderful relationship with them. They are being recognized for their work in the community which doesn't even touch the surface of what they really conquer at home.

So excuse me if my head is a little bigger today because of it. I am certainly proud and filled with joy that the Lord is living within my mom and it is being shown to the world through her work. Amen!

Congratulations MOM!!!! You are the best!

poor Cannon

How many summers are we going to have this beautiful little rug burn/sore on our forehead??? I was hoping to get pictures taken this week but oh well it will have to wait.

Summer 2006 Cannon fell one Sunday morning in the church nursery and got a rug burn that turned into a nasty little sore.

Summer 2007 Cannon fell on Sunday morning in the church nursery and got a rug burn that turned into a nasty little sore.

Summer 2008...

Holy Guacamole Batman!

Mason loves avocados almost as much as his momma!

I made Cannon's baby food when he was little and now we are starting on Mason. It is so super easy and CHEAP!!! I really enjoy doing it and Mason likes everything we have done so far. In 45 minutes yesterday I was able to make carrots, peaches, & bananas from start to finish.

My helper was in place...

Ho. Ho. Ho Green Giant!!
Cooking carrots
Momma, what do I do with it?
Yummy peaches!
Steamed peaches
Mason was impressed with the blender.
TA~DA!!! Bananas, carrots, and peaches all ready to go into the freezer. Each cube in an ounce of food and right now Mason eats 1-2 cubes per feeding 2 times a day.
All this cost me about $4.00 and I made 18 servings of food for him. Not bad. Not bad at all!

First Car Show Proves to Be Successful

Cameron got to enter his car in a car show for our church. He had a great time all week doing some little things to it and then getting it detailed for today. There were about 30 cars that entered and it was so much fun for him. He won first in his class and was on cloud nine!!! Cameron got a cool plaque and bragging rights. He was also pretty lucky with the raffle as well. He came home with a ton of stuff to show off. Here are some pictures of his car and then of course there were some off road trucks that showed off by crushing a car. Cannon thought that was the best ever.

Misc. whatnot

Seriously folks life is just cruising along at a slow speed and there is nothing really to talk about.

I took Mason to see the doctor on Monday and he has a viral infection with blisters on the back of his little throat. Poor baby. He also had the start of an ear infection probably because of teething. I got a prescription for an antibiotic for his ear and the viral infection just has to run it's course. He is not eating very well and it is miserable for us both!!! Sleep~What's that? Not that Mason has ever been the best sleeper but for the past two nights he is up because he doesn't want to lay down. He is so tired he will fall asleep on our shoulders very easily but when you lay him down he just starts to scream. We are making it but it has been some very long days and nights around here! Mason is up to 19 lbs. What a load!!!

I went to the OB yesterday for a check-up (ahem~we all know what I mean!) and my doctor is just awesome. She is so caring and kind towards me. She can't wait to talk about Mason and I am all for that! Well when I was weighing in I had an enormous smile on my face because the nurse didn't have to push the lower weight over to the right like she normally has to. Now without going into too much detail (I'm not that happy yet) I am officially 3 lbs below my pre-pregnancy weight. Nursing holds a little fat on you to help the baby. I would love to think that I have about 10-15 lbs of fat that will just disappear when I stop nursing, but I think I am in denial over that so more realistically it is about 3-5 lbs just hanging on to help out Mason. I started working out again so hopefully I will be able to really see a difference and start to be healthy. Goal is to be down about 5-7 more lbs. Mason's weight gain is helping me on my strength training.

I found one of Gracelyn's old headband bows and put it on Cannon yesterday. He would have been an adorable little girl but he is all boy for sure!!!
A SERIOUSLY good snack!! I have found them at United, Walmart, and Target.
Mason is so darn cute.

blogging slump

I know that everyone goes through a slump in what to write about. I enjoy reading several blogs a day and when I check on them and there is not an updated post I feel let down. How dare them deprive me of their thoughts, pictures taken during the week, snippets of their life?? Well I would like to think there are people waiting on my updates as much as I anticipate the updates of others. Indulge me people!!! I do have a few blog ideas in the works but are saving them for when full information is received. (How's that for a teaser?)

I do have a few pictures to show off my kiddos. Gracelyn has 2 1/2 weeks until she turns the big 0-5. According to her life will be grand when she is 5. There are new adventures to partake in and life in general will just be better.

Great Friend (part 1)

My great friend Teresa holding two sweet babies. She keeps Alexis a couple of days a week and holds Mason every time he is around. This picture is the exact thing that comes to mind when I think of Teresa. She is the most motherly person I know. I love that she is so ready to take Mason and give my arms a break. She was that way with Cannon too. I can always count on her to tell me that Cannon is a sweet boy and that she loves him. Even on the days when he is acting in a way that only a mother can love. She loves him too. That motherly way comes from her kind spirit and sweet heart. She is a nurturing person. Quick to be kind and caring and take charge to make sure that things get done to take care of someone. Her and Randall open their home to people for dinner several times a week and we are so fortunate to benefit from this time of fellowship.

Teresa and I went to ACU together for 3 semesters. She and I worked together and hit it off instantly. She was as much of a bubbly person then as she is now. Fast forward roughly 9 years and we are going to church together, working together, and most importantly sharing a friendship that is so wonderful. I enjoy her smiling face and she teaches me things daily. The number one thing that I love about Teresa Ator is that she loves the Lord.

I could go on and on as why Teresa is so special, but I know that sometimes I tend to ramble. :) My point of this post is to let her know that I cherish her and hold our friendship in a very special place in my heart.

4th of July

We had a great time last night at our church picnic and then coming back to the house to pop fireworks. I hope you all had a great day celebrating our Independence.

I finally switched around toys and got out the exersaucer. Mason loves it.
