Done!

I have just completed my Monday chores~ LAUNDRY!! I don't know why I have designated Monday as laundry day but it is. So after 4 loads washed, dried, folded, and put away I am done. 4 isn't so bad and I have no idea why there isn't more but oh well.

In other Melban news Cannon had his speech therapy today for the 31,073th time this month. I am tired of it. I hate saying that but boy I am tired of all the questions like, "Has Cannon added new words to his list?" "Did Cannon go potty this week?" "When are you thinking about transitioning him out of his crib?" The questions are not that bad really and I don't mind them asking because that is their job after all. BUT the reason I am frustrated is because all my answers are "I don't know."

I don't know when we will transition Cannon out of his bed. He has NEVER climbed out of the crib so why mess with a good thing right? He does take a nap 3-4 times a week in my bed or Gracelyn's depending on which one he chooses and he stays in it until he goes to sleep and will sleep as long as he does if he were in his crib and that is huge! At least I think so. So to that question~We are not transitioning Cannon out of his crib for at least another 6 months. Maybe when he turns 3 we will think about it.

I don't know if Cannon added any more words to our on going list. I am sure he did but I didn't write them down. I know, I know that is my only assignment every week. His list is getting long and I am so proud of him for trying new words but when I hear something new I don't always run to the kitchen to write it down. The therapist said I should keep a pad and pencil in each room so that it is always handy. To me that means 5 more opportunities for Cannon to have access to a writing utensil so that he can draw new masterpieces on my walls. Um.... NOT! So I am trying to pay more attention and remember. His new words this week are horse and bubbles. Thanks to a great birthday party this weekend he got to see a real live horse and ride one!! So horse is something we have heard a few times.

I don't know when I will ever get on the potty training bandwagon. I am so torn about it all. He is 2 1/2 and I know what every one's opinions are. I have read the pros and cons of every theory you can imagine. I have enlisted all my friend's tips and tried and true tactics so when we are ready to try the potty training thing we will be equipped. But to be honest I don't know when that will be. I don't really care to put much thought into figuring that out either! How's that for being indecisive? For the record, Cannon sits on the potty several times a day but has never pottied in it so technically he is using the potty but not for the intended purpose. He does like to read books in there though.

The main reason we are having more visits with our therapists is because there were several times in the beginning of our journey that they had to cancel. We are set up to see the speech therapist every Wednesday and the developmental therapist on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Friday of the month. Well if we ever miss a session we have to make it up no matter when it was missed so we have had therapy every Wednesday and Friday for 3 weeks now and will continue on Fridays until we are caught up which I think is two more times. Then we go back to regularly scheduled programming. WHEW!!!

Something to end your reading on a very upbeat note~Mason stood up today for about 4 seconds on his own. My babies are late walkers so for Mason to be 13 months old and finally standing on his own shows me we MIGHT be taking a few steps by summer. I love it!

You truly are patient--I don't think I'd be nice to the therapist EVERY week. :) As for the potty training, all I have to say is this: Christian was 3yrs and 2mo before he even tried. He was the one that made the move and I just waited until he was ready. You're a great mom and it will ALL happen eventually. YEAH for Mason!

Take a deep breath! Sounds like you're a little overwhelmed! And I can certainly understand why! As for the potty training, sounds like to me he's jsut doing what most men do when they go to the bathroom... sit and read... he's just practicing the important stuff! :)

Cannon is doing great. He will do things in his own time. I remember being anxious about certain milestones with Alexis but she was just not ready yet. You are such an awesome mommy. You are such an inspiration to a newer mommy like me!!

Of course! I'd love to add you guys too!

I read about your little Cannon and I just want to encourage you about his speech! It sounds like you are doing all the best things for him in that area and who cares if you don't jot down every little word. The good news is that he has got them. So yay! (Before I became a SAHM, I too was a speech therapist...we can just be annoying some times :o)) He's very lucky to have a mom that will do everything she can to help him. So yay for you too!!!
