Lucky number 9

In about 5 hours I will have been married 9 years. WOW!!! I couldn't have imagined life any sweeter or more fulfilling than it has been because of Cameron. He is complicated and yet so simple at the same time. I am proud of who he is and what he has become over the last 9 years. I could list a ton of things that I love about him but that won't truly capture what has taken place in our lives.

When you hear of fairytale romances it is hard not to get cynical about all that mushy stuff. I, myself want to throw the books out the window on a particularly rough day or week. But in reality my marriage is a fairytale. We have the beginning which was very much once-upon-a-time-ish. The plot of confusion and trials that been put in our path so that we must conquer something to learn our lesson. The climax of figuring it all out and realizing that we are not in this alone but through the grace of God can over come our errors and get back in the path to happiness. The characters of people that are put in our lives who shape who we are and transform our story with their own experiences and circumstances. And the ending. The ever on going ending. Happily ever after is just so cliche don't you think? Now I am a hopeless romantic. Anyone who truly knows me knows that I am as sappy as they come. I love romance and everything to do with mushy, sappy, dripping sentimental sweetness. But happily ever after is a state of mind. There are times when I wonder if our ever-after has been stalled during the trials. But then I glance at Cameron and catch his eye and know that all is as it should be. Life is perfectly complicated and full of uncertainties. I have tons of questions and a huge complex to prove it but I still know, deep down in my knower, that I am living happily ever after.
