Thursday Thoughts

What a week...

I got the kid's pictures back from last week. They turned out so good. There is some discoloration on the scanned pictures but not on the originals. I might need to clean the scanner but that is for another day...

School started Tuesday of course and it was great. We have a wonderful group of kids who are a great mix of feisty, timid, shy, talkative, outgoing, spirited, and mild. I am sure through the year I will have tons of stories about them. Here is my one for the week~ while we were unpacking our lunches at our tables the kids take everything out of the lunchbox and put it under their chair and we started opening the various lunch things. I was getting a cup of ice in the adjoining kitchen and when I came back my sandwich was out of the baggie with a bite out of it. A small bite, perfectly formed right from the side. I look to the left and the little boy is facing another child talking and eating. I look to the right and the little boy is looking at me with a HUGE grin on his face. I said, "____ did you take a bite of my sandwich?" and he very sheepishly said yes. I then asked if it was good and he said yes and then grinned so big. I appreciate him testing out my sandwich to make sure it was safe for me to eat. That was so thoughtful of him huh. I really couldn't stop laughing at it. He finished his lunch and then told me that his dad always did that. I am assuming that his dad is like Cameron and maybe finishes off the kid's food or something. If you knew this child you would be laughing with me. He is so timid and quiet so far. (I'm sure not for long.) It was totally unexpected from him. I loved it. I totally ate after him. I didn't think he had cooties or anything and yes my sandwich was good!

Cannon's dentist visit went as good as can be expected!! I do not recommend taking a 2-year-old to the dentist but oh well. There is no nerve damage nor damage to the tooth beside it. YEAH!!! We go back in 6 months for a cleaning. Yeah right! :) We don't have dental insurance so we will be waiting to get into a general dentist and not a pediatric dentist. I don't like paying for all the bells and whistles they offer. To prove my point when I asked yesterday at the fancy dentist's office how much it would be (out of pocket) for Gracelyn to come in and get her teeth cleaned and do the whole shebang they quoted $277. UMMMMM after I picked my mouth up of the floor I politely said I would call them to make an appointment later. I got home and called a general dentist that could take us all and they quoted $103. FOR THE EXACT SAME EXAM!!! And they could get Gracelyn in today... So Gracelyn went today for the first time and she did great. Got x-rays, cleaning, flossing tips and met the dentist. It was a great positive experience for her and cost me so much less $$$$... HUGE PLUS. She is expected to loose her first tooth within 6 months roughly and won't go back for a year because her teeth were in excellent shape with no cavities.

I am going to start my workout regimen tomorrow. If I blog about it then I know that other people know when I am suppose to be at the gym... That is a good thing I hope. I am going m-w-f after Gracelyn is taken to school and t-th in the evenings hopefully. I am proud of the weight loss so far but not proud of the muffin-top I have acquired.
