Resolutions

Okay I promised my resolutions last week but somehow they slipped my mind... Well really I made the post about them and then thought to myself that really I don't have any resolutions. So it took me a while to do them. Here they are in no particular order. Some are more meaningful than others. Some are more attainable than others. Some are just down right silly.

1. Participate in some form of marathon. Whatever you want to call it I want to enter something, pay a fee, wear a tag on my shirt, have a few blisters, sweat, and have a picture of me at a finish line. Now if all these things happen at once that would be even cooler!!

2. I plan on entertaining in our home at LEAST once a month. In some form or another. I am a pretty good cook. And most people don't know it. I never invite people over or cook for them Whether this company is family or friends I want to open up my home. God has provided us with a place to enjoy and we need to show him our gratitude through doing his work in it. We are going to eventually hold a bible study here when our other small group splits. I am praying that this is sooner rather than later because as more time passes the more I get cold feet about it.

3. Read the bible every day. I have a new devotional book for moms that is really neat. So I am on the right path. I need to spend more time in God's word so that I am able to fully understand my strengths, weaknesses, desires, passions, goals, commitments, commands.

4. Get happy. I have been in a serious funk for the last 6+ weeks. I got called out on it and it stung to have someone recognize what I had tried so hard to hide. I don't call it a depression because I am familiar with that but I call it a funk because in so many ways I know exactly what is contributing to it. I was not trusting God to take care of me. I had little faith that he would provide a way for my desires to come true.

5. Take more pictures of my family. Together with ME in them. Each child alone doing what they love and capturing their personalities. I am also starting a photo project called Project 365. I am suppose to take a picture a day for 365 days. I can't guarantee that I will post my project picture every day but I will share with you my blog buddies my life through pictures. They may be 4-5 in one post but I will label them. I promise that they won't all be about my kids either. Not that I need to apologize for being a picture hog of my kids, but I hope to really capture my life in the next year.

6. Workout 3-4 times a week. I have basically taken the month of December off. boooooooo so I want to get back in the game and enjoy my hard work. I don't have a specific amount of weight to loose because that isn't an issue but oh my I put my swimsuit on last week and I was seriously wondering why we don't follow the fashion tips of the 20's and 30's with the fuller more covering swimsuits of their time.

7. Keep my car clean. AAAACCCKKK... If you have ever ridden in my car you know it is a pit. Now I am not promising that it will be spotless but I am resoluting (is that a word?) that I will clean it out once a week.

8. Keep my house clean. Oh my this is a huge one folks. Cameron and I are coming to terms with the fact that we are outgrowing our house. Not that we are moving or anything because of it but that we are really out of space. Every nook and cranny is filled. Every closet is packed. Every spare corner has something in it. So we are going to start with keeping it clean and eventually work on cleaning out closets, storage areas, and kid's rooms. They have too much stuff.

9. Get a pedicure during each season. If you saw my feet you would think why each season why not each week? Well I can't afford each week like they need but once a season should do me good.

These are great ones. I'm still working on mine. I'm so excited that you want to do a marathon. I've done a full and a half. The expereinces were pretty different, but either way, it is so rewarding and the coolest feeling of accomplishment when you cross that finish line. You go girl!

You've got some other very good ones. Can't wait to hear about the progress...you can do it!
