Recent Happenings

Gracelyn: Mom can we go to Mr. Gattis for Daddy's birthday?

Me: no it is Daddy's birthday he gets to choose.

Gracelyn: Can we go to Blue Sky?

Me: Yeah that sounds more like it.

Gracelyn: WE ARE NOT GOING TO THAT LOBSTER PLACE! I don't like lobster.

Me: We aren't going to the lobster place on Saturday.

Gracelyn: I don't want to go there ever because I don't like lobster.

Gotcha Grace! She is so adamant that we don't go to the lobster place. Cameron's all time favorite meal for his birthday is steak and lobster so we go to Red Lobster once a year with his parents to celebrate and enjoy the food. I really could just eat a whole basket of cheddar biscuits all by myself. Wait! I do... :)
I am trying out a new recipe for Cameron's birthday cake this year. I detest chocolate cake and chocolate ice cream. Now a Hershey kiss every once in a while is fine but over all I am not a chocolate fan. As much as I don't like it, Cameron loves it. So about 3 years ago I stopped making strawberry cakes with cream cheese frosting (my favorite) and started making a chocolate cake for him. Aren't I such the giving wife? Just took me a while to bring myself to actually make a yucky brown cake in my house. I have also only ever made brownies 2 times in my adult life. So Cameron knows he is really special since I am breaking my personal vow against chocolate to accommodate him!!! Hold on just a sec. while I go polish my halo...
Still going strong with the Project 365. It is getting tough to think of good picture subjects. Well I take that back I have 3 kiddos who are happy to pose but I also wanted to share other aspects of my life beyond my kids.

A cross that D'Sha` made. It is precious and hanging very prominently on my wall by the fireplace.

Mason is loving his walking toy. He starts out on his feet and will take one or two steps but then drops to his knees and will walk the entire living room on his knees.

I have laundry issues!

Cannon had his final evaluation for ECI (Early Childhood Intervention) on Friday. He qualified in the speech area. On the other aspects of the test he scored within his age group so he is doing great socially, cognitively, and developmentally. Just the speech issues were a concern. The therapist said that he was about 6 months behind so that is good to finally know. Cannon will receive therapy 6 times a month. 4 times with a speech therapist and then 2 times for developmental support. Not sure what all to expect but it starts tomorrow so we will see. I swear the second the therapist and coordinator walked out the door on Friday he started talking and hasn't stopped since. So maybe this is just the thing he needed to get him kick started in the right direction with his speech.

Something today that stood out to me was that he was in the bathtub and there were bubbles and he had a handful up to his nose. He held it up to Cameron and said, "Dad, snow!"

Grace always has some of the funniest expressions or sayings.

I have to agree about the whole Chocolate thing...I like it, but clearly don't love it like Cam.

Way to go Mason and Cannon!!!

Love you guys~

Look at Masson go...how fun!

If anyone ever says they don't like RL cheddar biscuits, they are lying! :)

I've heard great things about ECI. Our experience with Tate's physical therapy has been nothing but positive. I do have to remind myself that it's a slow process, though. I'm sure it will go great and you'll be blown away by the improvements!
