My three-almost-four-year-old gives me plenty of things to write about. The most recent is the plans she has for when she is a grown-up. When questioned what she wants to be when she grows up she simply says "A mommy!" AWWWWW... I know, precious right. Well I went on to give the lesson that she has to get married first (we'll save college-career talk for another day). She wanted to know who she could marry. I promptly said a boy that mommy and daddy like. The rest of the conversation went as follows:
Gracelyn~Can I marry Cannon(brother)?
Me~No you can't you have to choose someone else.
Gracelyn~Can I marry Daddy?
Me~No I am married to Daddy you have to choose someone else.
Gracelyn~Can I marry my uncles? She has 2 that she is very close to. Uncle Eric and Uncle Jerry
Me~No, they are married. You have to marry someone who is not married.
Gracelyn~I guess I can't marry Matt then!
She preceded to pout and get really upset. Matt is our good friend and his daughter is one of Gracelyn's best friends. It was too cute to watch her get upset that all the MEN in her life were married and she didn't know what to do. I assured her that God made a little boy just for her and that she would meet him and get married when she was grown-up.
As for kids she informed me I will have a granddaughter named Sally. No boys allowed!
Cannon is 10 months old now. Crawling all over the place. He is fast. Much faster than his sister was. I know that he has someone to follow and all that but he is just a different baby. He is much more cuddly and snuggly. Makes my heart swell when he is picked up from his crib and he actually puts his arms around my neck and hangs on for about 10 seconds! A real hug.
Cameron's business is in overtime. I can't complain at all. I keep reminding myself of that because I do feel the need to complain creep up inside me but it is all good and he does enjoy being busy. He is working so hard though. I am afraid of burnout but he assures me that right now he is okay. Being his own boss is good for him. God has really blessed him with the ability to work so hard and stay healthy. I pray for that daily in his life.
We got some rain today! YEAH!!!!!! PRAISE JESUS! Speaking of... When we went on the porch to watch and admire the rain Gracie looked up at me and said "Momma we prayed for rain and it happened!" I told her we needed to thank God for that and we went to our knees on our porch and she said the most heartfelt prayer of thankfulness! I was so humbled by her spirit! She called her daddy and as he answered she told him "Praise Jesus Daddy it rained!" Boy she teaches me things all day.
It's late and I better get to bed. I am able to meet a great friend tomorrow and her kids at the park. What a wonderful thing to look forward too!
